Good engineering first, then AI
AI on its own does not make software better. It makes whoever is using it faster, which is only an improvement if they know what good looks like. Point it at the wrong design and it will build the wrong thing quickly.
So we start where we always have, with understanding the problem, designing for change and testing what we build. AI then takes the slog out of it. The engineering discipline is what makes the speed worth having.
How we use AI in our delivery
Writing and reviewing code
We use AI to draft and review code and to take on the repetitive changes, so our engineers spend their time on the parts that need judgement.
Generating tests
We use it to widen test coverage and probe edge cases, which catches more before anything reaches you.
Documentation that keeps up
We use it to keep documentation current as the code changes, so what is written down still matches what runs.
Getting to grips with a codebase
When we join an existing system, AI helps us map and understand it quickly, so we are useful sooner.
Quality stays with people
Everything AI helps us produce goes through the same review and the same tests as anything else we write, and a named engineer is accountable for it. We treat AI output as a first draft to be checked, not an answer to be trusted.
That is the part that keeps the speed honest. Moving faster is only useful if the quality bar holds, so the bar does not move.
How we keep it trustworthy
We do not send your code or data to third-party AI models without your agreement, and we are clear about the tools we use and where they run. Where AI has helped produce something, we are open about it.
A person still makes the call. AI informs the work. It does not sign it off.

What the evidence actually says
The research on AI and delivery is real, and it is mixed. A randomised controlled trial of GitHub Copilot found developers finished a set task around 55% faster, with the biggest gains for those earlier in their careers. A 2025 study from METR, looking at experienced developers working on code they knew well, went the other way: they were about 19% slower with AI, even though they felt faster.
We read that as a reason to lead with judgement rather than a headline number. AI speeds up some work and gets in the way of other work, and knowing the difference is the job. We will not quote you a percentage we cannot stand behind for your situation.
